Amelia Earhart: Pioneer of Passion

I finally had the chance to watch the Amelia Earhart movie and found it to be truly inspiring. She was an extremely passionate, determined and beautiful person. She was the catalyst of change in her own life.

I've been thinking a lot about the importance of being our own muse. We must find ways to be inspired and excited by something on a daily basis. When I was in college one of my drawing professors (who was quite the boot camp instructor) taught me to make creating art a lifestyle. One day he had us gather around a table for a demonstration. He went around the class and asked us what our favorite song was. At first I was confused and nervous because I didn't really have a favorite band at the time.  The point was that we have to live a passionate life, taking in all the creativity and beauty around us. Creating art is about experiencing the world, every song we hear, delicious foods we savor or friends we connect with over a glass of wine.

Tip of the Day: If you're having a creative block try creating a board for inspiration. Everyday find at least one thing (quote, magazine picture, fortune cookie fortune) to post on the board. It will definitely get the creative juices flowing!

"The stars seemed near enough to touch and never before have I seen so many. I always believed the lure of flying is the lure of beauty, but I was sure of it that night."

"The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward."
